Programs
Join us for a night of summer fun! We will be showing Inside Out 2 (2024) on the library patio. The movie is rated PG. Attendees will be entered into a drawing to win awesome prizes. All ages are welcome, but children ages 12 years and under must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver. Chairs and refreshments will be provided. In the event of inclement weather, the movie will be shown inside.

Teens will be decorating canvas tote bags using iron on designs and fabric markers with a banned book week theme. Registration is required at the Circulation Desk, by phone at (313) 791-3800 or by email at dhreference@ gmail.com. Open to ages 10-18. Since we will be using hot irons, we ask that children ages 12 and under be accompanied by a parent or caregiver to assist during the program. Space is limited.

Join us at the library or on Facebook Live on the 3rd Thursday of each month! We will read a story or two to help you go to sleep. Pajamas are encouraged. For ages 0-10, but all ages are welcome. Children ages 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver at the library. The link is posted on the library’s website and on the library calendar.

Come have fun playing board games at our Saturday Afternoon Board Games program. We’ll have games like Catan, Ticket to Ride, Monopoly, and Clue. If there’s interest, we’d like to explore strategy games, tabletop war games and collectible card games! No experience is necessary. Everyone is welcome, but children ages 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver.

If you're a teen (10-18) who spends their time at the library then this is for you. These meetings are all about you and for you. We want the library to be a better place and we need your help to do it. If you're looking for volunteer opportunities, to have a say in what programs we offer, and even an input on the teen area then this is the meeting to come to. We are looking for dedicated teens that plan on coming to monthly meetings and being actively involved in their library. If that sounds like something you'll be interested in then come join TAG!
